Hi, my name’s George. I write TDA’s Sport Newsletter, and today’s a very special day for me.

It’s been one year since we launched TDA’s Sport Newsletter, and we’re not looking back. Last June, we launched this newsletter because we had a hunch: sport shouldn't feel like a boys' club that requires a PhD in midfielder stats to understand.

Turns out we’re onto something.

Over the past 12 months, we have grown to a community of 43,000. Recently, we asked our readers why they continue to open our newsletter. Here's what they told us:

🤷 "I’m not a ‘sport person’, and feel excluded from sport news that seems to target devoted fans."
Fair enough. We can do better. So we designed the sport newsletter for all.

🏃‍♀️ "I want to stay in the loop without watching 3-hour games"
Get the highlights, drama, and stories that (actually) matter in 3 minutes, and take that other 2 hours and 57 minutes to treat yourself. Go on.

⚖️ "Finally, sports coverage that doesn't ignore women's leagues"
We cover the Matildas as much as the Socceroos. Revolutionary, right?

📱 "Social media sports takes are exhausting"
Skip the hot takes. Get the facts, minus the keyboard warriors.

🏸 "I want to know about more than just footy and cricket"
Tennis, netball, basketball, surfing – if Aussies are crushing it, we're covering it.

🤝 "Sports content that doesn't make me feel stupid"
No gatekeeping here. We explain the context so you can join any conversation.

So here’s my ask: click the button below to subscribe for free, have a read of this afternoon’s edition when it hits your inbox at 5pm, and if it’s not for you, you can easily unsubscribe.

If we can grow our audience to 100,000 by our next birthday, we’ll be able to secure better interview guests, tell more community sport stories, and explore the less-covered aspects of sport, including mental health, leadership, sports science, and rising stars.

You in? Try our newsletter here, and join the team. We’d love to have you.
